NABA announces the most recent awards won by the Communication and Graphic Design Area, highlighting the quality of the Academy's educational offerings. These recognitions were were achieved through participation in the Socially Correct 2024, Premio Eccellenza Formazione PEF, and the D&AD New Blood Awards 2024. Thanks to the dedication of the students in this area, NABA has also had the opportunity to renew its collaboration with the 3W Contest.
Awards from the Communication and Graphic Design Area: Socially Correct 2024 Competition
Students from the BA in Graphic Design and Art Direction participated in the Socially Correct 2024 competition, this year titled "Notte Brava. Una movida sicura per tutte e tutti aimed at promoting behavioural change among young people in the nightlife scene. This competition, promoted by Roma Capitale, allows art and communication students to compete as creative pairs, showcasing their talent through creating campaigns on important social issues.
Two students from NABA's Rome campus, Rebecca Geri, who served as Art Director, and Camilla Pietrosanto, in the role of Copywriter, were selected as winners and will have the opportunity to do a curricular internship at Saatchi & Saatchi. Their communication project was supervised by NABA lecturers Assunta Squitieri and Alessio Natale Ferri.
Awards from the Communication and Graphic Design Area: Premio Eccellenza Formazione AIF
The Academy nominated the educational project of the Academic Master in Sustainable Innovation Communication and the project realised within the Design Marathon, a collaboration with the FNM Group, for the Premio Eccellenza Formazione PEF of the Associazione Italiana Formatori (AIF). The PEF, now in its ninth edition and open to all professional entities in the public and private sectors, aims to disseminate best practices related to learning pathways and the enhancement of human capital and organisational development, evaluated on merit and based on individual, collective, and internal organisational results.
Following the award ceremony, these were the recognitions assigned to the training project of the Academic Master in Sustainable Innovation Communication:
- 2nd prize in the Area Economia Processi Produttivi e Sostenibilità,
- Mention “ORIENTARE VERSO UNA VISIONE SISTEMICA E INTERCONNESSA PER RAPPRESENTARE LA REALTÀ”
The Design Marathon project, which in 2023 involved sixty students from the Milan campus working on three different briefs on themes such as urban regeneration, sustainable communication, and the development of future human-centred scenarios, received the Mention “CREATIVITÀ, COINVOLGIMENTO, ENERGIA”, awarded by the Area Comunicazione e Cultura and presented by juror Elisa Marchisone.
Awards from the Communication and Graphic Design Area: D&AD New Blood Awards 2024
Projects by students from the Master of Arts in Visual Design and Integrated Marketing Communication at the Milan and Rome campuses were awarded at the D&AD New Blood Awards 2024. This initiative is open to all students in advertising, design, digital, and marketing, as well as recent graduates and emerging creatives from around the world, and selects the best projects based on real briefs set by actual clients and judged by top international creatives in the industry.
Two awards were given during the ceremony held on July 4 in London:
- A Wood Pencil for “Stop Fossil Fuel”, a project by Milan campus students Luigi Centenaro, Vritika Gautam, Louis Kempenich, and Ivan Lichko, created from the brief by Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, with the guidance of NABA lecturers Nico Carrassi, Lorenzo Branchi, and Dario Marongiu;
- A Wood Pencil for “Eargasm”, a project by Rome campus students Giulia Cirillo and Benedetta De Rosa, developed from the brief by Durex & Design Bridge & Partners, with the guidance of NABA lecturer Massimiliano Traschitti.
NABA at the 3W Contest: renewing the collaboration
Among the competitions in which the Communication and Graphic Design Area has participated, the 3W Contest stands out as a renewed collaboration with the Academy. The 3W Contest is an initiative launched in 2019 with the goal of strengthening the dialogue and collaboration between students of Art and Communication Academies and the world of business and technical-scientific research, creating a bridge between these realities that ensures mutual benefits and value.
Participating in the contest, working on two different briefs, were a group of students from the Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Art Direction, guided by NABA lecturers Alberto Bettinetti and Federica Clerici, and students from the Academic Master in Sustainable Innovation Communication, guided by NABA lecturers Gloria Puppi and Maurizio Goetz.
