The Project

6 food experiences, 6 reflections around food, 6 six families of tangible objects designed to trigger the formation of a more conscious awareness towards food and food-related habits.

Our everyday life is lined with micro-events related to the connection between man and food. Within this relation, objects play an intrinsic role in the definition of the experience. Each of the 6 projects refers to a specific moment of everyday life and transform it into a new kind of situation, looking at it with critical, acute, curious and playful points of view.

Did you know that water can have memory? What message does it carry, when it comes through aqueducts and tubs to reach our glass? Did you know that a proper vibration frequency can enhance the vital energy of water?

How many acts do we perform while we sit at the dining table? On this table, unexpected sounds will under line our moves, between a pinch of salt and a sprinkling of grated cheese. Voilà, it's ready.

Time has an effect on food, changing and altering it. On this table, a special device contains and isolates the different aliments, in order to slow down their natural process of decay. A stackable object, a protective second skin for fruits and vegetables.

Did you ever think at our body as a doser? On this table, we learn to use the natural doses suggested by our body to define truly customized recipes. "Add a handful of rice, two lids of water, three navels of sugar, turn and simmer...".

How much do we know about what we eat? On this table, the empathy between man and animal is the only thing that counts. Some special objects make us experience the kind of life of an animal grown in an industrial farm.

Did you ever take a close look to what you are eating? On this table, we use cutlery designed to allow new geographical discoveries in a journey inside your meal!

Virtual Production

Virtual Production is the innovative technology that creates digital visual effects on set, using software born for videogames development. The Virtual Set -made in NABA Milan Campus from May 3rd to 7th 2021 - was the scenario for the filming of two short movies, result of the collaboration between students, lecturers, and technical partners. The initiative is part of a path that begins from the fields of expertise that characterise the BA’s specialisations (VFX, 3D Design, and Game Development), revolving around contemporary multimedia and digital production with great attention to experiments in the VR, MX, and Virtual Production fields.

NABA together with Manuelito gladly present “Manuelito Back to School”, a series of Live streaming hosted on the artist’s Twitch channel. The collaboration touched the themes of character design, animation thorugh motion capture systems, the use of Unreal Engine software, virtual production for the development of real time VFX and many more.

TIMVISION Floating Theatre Summer Fest 2021
_ Alice nella Città

The students of NABA BA in Graphic Design and Art Direction created the new communication project for TIMVISION Floating Theatre Summer Fest 2021, which will take place from June 24th to September 9th in Rome. The communication project was completed by the animated video opening of the prestigious Festival, realised by the students of the BA in Media Design and Multimedia Arts.
