NABA takes part to the 9th edition of Maker Faire Rome - The European Edition, the biggest European event dedicated to innovation, promoted and organised by the Chamber of Commerce of Rome.

The Academy will participate from 8th to 10th of October within the Gazometro Ostiense with “A new design education is in the making”, an exhibition space presenting a selection of prototypes and products realised as graduation projects for the Bachelor of Arts in Design, developed with techniques of rapid manufacturing, parametric design, interaction design. As well, visitors will be invited to entertain themselves with a couple of videogame cabins, rediscovering feelings and aesthetic references from the game culture of the ‘80s and ‘90s. The games have been realised by high-school students during a series of workshops held at NABA campus in Milan.

On October 9th within the fair, NABA will also be presenting the talk “Virtual Production” curated by Emanuele Lomello, Course Leader of the BA in Creative Technologies. The talk will be a reflection on how the game culture is triggering a revolution in the movie industry and how creative technology is triggering a revolution in the educational field. It will revolve around how the production of movies is undergoing a process of deep transformation, following the introduction of systems that were born for the development of video games. To understand what it is, which are the techniques, the technologies and the competencies of this innovative field of development of CGI is crucial for the possible definition of new horizons for the contemporary visual languages and for the development of new hybrid pedagogical strategies.

Lastly, NABA will host within its Rome campus some initiatives from the third edition of I-RIM 3D, Three Days of Robotics and Intelligent Machines, also lasting from 8th to 10th of October, a reference point for those who want to be technological innovators and a meeting point between research and industry. Guido Tattoni, NABA Dean, will represent the Academy on the occasion of the opening conference of the initiative, on October 8th at 1.45 pm, on the main stage of Maker Faire 2021.
