The GRAND TOUR AFAM project aims to promote the role of AFAM institutions abroad in the preservation and enhancement of Italian culture and lifestyle through a schedule of initiatives focused on Italian creativity.

The project spans a total duration of 24 months and is divided into two phases: "Creating in Italy" and "Networking." The first phase takes place in Italy over 12 months, followed by the second phase abroad for the remaining 12 months. Each initiative, carried out in synergy between the partner institutions in terms of complementarity, will highlight the central role of students and their active participation. Students will be involved in the planning, ideation, and production of innovative content, and will play a key role in artistic productions open to the public.

CREATING IN ITALY:
The participating academies will develop a path of research and creative production with the involvement of students, faculty, researchers, and international experts through the organization of workshops, exhibitions, events, conferences, and other forms of discussion and study. To promote the knowledge of AFAM institutions, a calendar of meetings has been organized in various Italian cities: a journey through different regions to discover the best artistic and cultural realities of the country.

NETWORKING:
This phase will involve launching an international contest for AFAM institution students and a roadshow for AFAM institutions abroad. The contest will allow students to actively participate by representing Italy, its beauty, and aesthetics. Meanwhile, the roadshow will present a structured proposal of events dedicated to the international network, including performances, exhibitions, and residencies for young artists.
The project is supported by 16 partners with common goals: 14 AFAM institutions and 2 public institutions—La Sapienza University with the Digilab Research Centre, and the National Research Council with the Institute of Cultural Heritage Sciences.

The GRAND TOUR AFAM project, backed by Ministerial Decree 124/2023 from the Ministry of University and Research (INTAFAM 00029, CUP I83B24000030006), aims to enhance the AFAM network and promote its internationalization by activating experiences, activities, communication programs, dissemination, awareness, education, research, and artistic production focused on the preservation and promotion of Italian culture and "Made in Italy." The initiative is intended to promote knowledge of the Italian cultural, artistic, musical, and coreutic heritage, as well as to ensure the best conditions for its use and public enjoyment, increasing its attractiveness and international profile.
