The Project

The sectoral brand Alpaca del Peru is one of the protagonists of Pitti Filati 89. In this edition was also presented the outfit resulting from the project in collaboration between Promperú Italia and the students of the 2nd and 3rd year of the BA and the 1st year of the MA in Fashion Design of NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti.

The winning outfit was designed by Annamaria Pacilli, characterized by neo modern lines and a sense of new balance. Essential, but at the same time futuristic, these are the foundations of the "new code".

The aim of this activity is to promote Alpaca yarn as a high-end fibre, which also has a value from the social point of view: currently there are about 120,000 households, located mainly in the Andes, linked to the activity of alpaca breeding. In this way, in the public imagination, all the values that the alpaca fiber sets with it, eco-sustainability, tradition and culture are recreated.

The projects were realized thanks to the collaboration of three yarn-producing brands of Alpaca: Inca Tops, Itessa and Michell, who provided the yarns for the production of the outfit and the realization of the Trend Book.
