An opportunity to bring the ideas of young authors and filmmakers to the attention of cinema and TV professionals: for the fourth consecutive year, NABA and Fondazione Cinema per Roma promoted the "Z-PITCH" contest as part of the Rome Film Fest. The presentation took place on 22 October at the LAZIO TERRA DI CINEMA space of the Regione Lazio within the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

To mark the launch of the contest, a talk and panel discussion on the project were also held. Speakers included Vincenzo Cuccia (NABA Media Design and New Technologies Area Leader), Francesca Staasch (BA in Film and Animation lecturer at the Rome campus), Alexia De Vito (Special Projects - Fondazione Cinema per Roma), and Antonella Salvatore (NABA School Director - Rome).

Z-PITCH: the audiovisual storytelling contest and presentation event

Z-PITCH” is a competition open to current students and recent graduates from Schools of Cinema and Media Design in Italy, held in collaboration with Civica Scuola di Cinema Luchino Visconti and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli. The contest aims to highlight the education and creativity of the new generation in the audiovisual field while fostering connections between professionals and emerging talents. It specifically targets Generation Z and those seeking to propose audiovisual storytelling projects, whether feature films or serial projects, that address contemporary and significant themes. Submitted content must be original and unpublished.

Interested students are invited to submit their projects between December 2, 2024, and February 28, 2025. A panel of educators and industry professionals will then evaluate these submissions. The authors of the top seven projects will have the opportunity to participate in a day-long advanced training masterclass and prepare for the frontal pitching session.
