On September 18 at 10:00 AM, on the eve of Milan Fashion Week S/S 2024, the Academy's Milan campus will host the opening of the new ORTO TINTORIO. Such an innovative and sustainable project stems from a prestigious collaboration involving the NABA Fashion Design Area, the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences of the University of Milan and the Officina del Colore Naturale research laboratory. The aim is to create a natural dye garden for textile design. On the same day, the SHOWROOM MASTER OF ARTS IN FASHION DESIGN event will be held in Room T 0.0. Here, the collections by second-year students of the MA in Fashion Design will be presented to the audience and fashion system professionals.

ORTO TINTORIO and SHOWROOM: event information

The natural dye garden and the students' collections

In accordance with the Academy's commitment to sustainability and innovation, the ORTO TINTORIO wants to be an experimental and demonstrative area to cultivate dyeing plants for textile design. The aim is to obtain forgotten and unknown results that can inspire young designers' creativity and colour sensitivity, enabling them to further their research into eco-sustainable solutions for textile design. During the opening, it will also be possible to visit the Textile Design Laboratories. Here, the raw materials from the new Orto will be used in the Fashion Design Area's natural dyeing projects.

On the same day, MA in Fashion Design students will present their collections in the SHOWROOM – MASTER OF ARTS IN FASHION DESIGN. Companies, journalists, buyers, professionals and all the other visitors will have the opportunity to discover the garments and other research outputs (fashion book, visual book, material folders, accessories, etc.) created during the fashion designers' study path. Among the collections displayed industry professionals will select those that will take part to Fashion Graduate Italia, the event promoted by Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS, on October 24 at 2.30 PM at BASE Milano.
