NABA is a partner of the inaugural edition of the Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week, the first major international fashion event in Romania, from October 15 to 18 in the capital city. As part of the event, the Academy will present a talk and two interactive workshops aimed at students and faculty from the Universitatea Națională de Arte București (UNARTE), as well as all fashion enthusiasts.
The "Between Threads of Creativity and Weaves of the Market” talk will be held on October 15 from 4 PM to 6 PM at UNARTE (Str. G-ral Constantin Budisteanu 19, Bucharest). The two workshops will be held on October 16, also at UNARTE: "The Shop Window Between Online and Offline: Evolution and Synergy in the Phygital Era" will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM, while “Waves" will take place from 3 PM to 6 PM.

At the talk "Between Threads of Creativity and Weaves of the Market”, led by NABA lecturer Valeria Battel, the discussion will focus on how creativity and new stylistic codes are revolutionising the world of fashion and applied arts, redefining the professional landscape of the future. The session will also present NABA’s educational offering in the Fashion Design Area, which adopts a contemporary and innovative approach, fostering personal identity development and enhancing awareness of creative and cultural languages, preparing students to navigate an ever-evolving market intuitively.
Through exclusive Academy projects, key competencies such as innovation, sustainability, and the ability to decode contemporary languages will be explored in a context where new dialogues between humanity and technology and between culture and information emerge. These projects will highlight the challenges and opportunities for future professionals in the fashion industry within an environment of increasing interest and competition.

The “The Shop Window Between Online and Offline: Evolution and Synergy in the Phygital Era” workshop will address the evolution of shop windows, a traditional retail element, taking on new forms and meanings in a world where the boundaries between digital and physical are increasingly blurred. This workshop will explore the crucial role of the shop window in today’s context, analysing how physical and virtual spaces can interact synergistically. The in-store and online experiences are no longer seen as alternatives but as strategic complements. The success of a brand today lies in its ability to seamlessly merge these two worlds while keeping its identity and values at the forefront. Through design, storytelling, and technological innovation, we will explore how to create personalised and engaging experiences that captivate the customer at every touchpoint.
The workshop “Waves”—once again led by Valeria Battel—will explore the study of waves and their various artistic reinterpretations. Through brainstorming and conceptual mapping, the workshop will delve into the macro-theme of waves, their movements, and their different forms. After the analysis, the class will be divided into groups, and each group will choose to represent a different wave, which will then be associated with a specific brand. The objective is to teach students how to work through sensations and images.
