A useful Munari-inspired machine describes zoology, botany and mineralogy. "Tassonomie Leggere" ("Light Taxonomies") is the NABA installation for "Naturalis Historia" — the fifth edition of the Lake Como Design Festival. The work will be on show under Broletto's portico in Como, a venue of the event that will take place from September 16 to 24.
The design festival and "Tassonomie Leggere": concept and credits
Lake Como Design Festival is an annual event that offers exhibitions, reflections and studies. Its programme includes shows, talks and events in historical, unpublished or forgotten places. The theme of the 2023 edition is "Naturalis Historia". It celebrates the work of the same name by Pliny the Elder - a writer and naturalist, author of a predictable census of the animal and plant world, as well as the valuable information in books on mineralogy. "Tassonomie Leggere" explores the concept of the festival as a moving encyclopaedia; it is a tribute to non-tangible knowledge. The installation was realised by the students of the MA in Interior Design Ginevra Conchetto, Giacomo Giusti, Marco Nisticò, Riccardo Rosati. It was curated by Paolo Giacomazzi (NABA lecturer) and supervised by Claudio Larcher (NABA Design Area Leader) and Valentina Dalla Costa (Course Leader of the MAs of NABA Design Area).
