On June 24, the “Stitching Words. NABA Fashion Show 2024 - Milano” took place at Triennale Milano, a special event that annually showcases the best collections of Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design students from the Milan Campus.

NABA Fashion Show 2024: the concept

Stitching Words” is the theme Nicoletta Morozzi (NABA Fashion Design Advisor) defined at the beginning of the Academic Year for this edition, that serves as a reflection on language and its constant evolution to express actions and emotions in ways that are increasingly suited to the ongoing changes in technologies and human relationships. Fashion, in fact, is a language, thanks to the alchemical phenomenon that arises in the relationship between people and the clothes they wear.

The NABA Fashion Show 2024 theme provided students with the opportunity to create their own language, composed of stitched words that brought to life stories through clothing, fabrics, photos, videos, and all tools at their disposal, from embroidery to artificial intelligence.

NABA Fashion Show 2024: the Faculty and involved partners

From the “Stitching Words” concept emerged the final presentation, promoted by Colomba Leddi (Fashion Design Area Leader) and Michele Corradini (Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design Course Leader – Milan), with Direction and Artistic Direction by Paolo Bazzani (Art Director and NABA lecturer). The show was held at Triennale Milano and was accompanied by live sound (choir and music) specially created and performed by the students from the CPM Music Institute of Milan, the Music School founded and chaired by Franco Mussida. We would also like to thank the project partners BCM Milano, Dr. Martens, and Sati Beauty for their collaboration.

This year, it was again possible to follow the event via streaming on NABA’s YouTube channel and watch the lead-up on Class TV Moda: an eight-episode program chronicled the lives of Fashion Design students from the Milan and Rome Campuses, their aesthetic influences, and the planning and operational phases preceding the NABA Fashion Show.

NABA Fashion Show 2024: the students’ collections

The 120 collections, selected by a jury composed of journalists, professionals, industry companies, and NABA Alumni, presented at “Stitching Words. NABA Fashion Show 2024 - Milano,” were made by 30 third-year students of the BA in Fashion Design at the Milan Campus: Anastasia Avesani, Edoardo Baraggioli, Gaia Barichella, Miriam Baroncelli, Federico Bartolozzi, Alice Bertaso, Mattia Briganti, Federica Capone, Cira Cioffi, Margherita Cracco, Edi Dakic, Francesco D’Intino, Anna Carla Enrico, Giuseppe Ferri, Diego Gallardo Nava, Claudia Gastaldo, Alberto Gottardo, Jiacheng Gong, Tommaso Grasso, Marta Johanna Johansson, Iulia Leona Tamas, Geremia Malfanti, Giulia Paradiso, Annachiara Rabito, Gaia Maria Secchi, Michele Vitolo, Giada Visconti Di Massino, Philipp Wilhelm, Elisa Zeni, and Matteo Zaneboni.

NABA Fashion Show 2024: the Magazine

This year also sees the annual edition of the Academy's Magazine, created within the BA Fashion Styling and Communication specialisation. Now in its eleventh edition and presented during the Fashion Show, “Darwin 20” showcases the creations of students from the Milan and Rome Campuses, all based on the same concept, and collects content related to the communication of the collections and the special projects carried out during the Academic Year.

For the Magazine production, the students were supported by four exceptional Mentors: Elisa Ambrosetti (Project Manager & Producer at nss magazine), Candela Pelizza (Art Director, Content Creator, and Web Influencer), Riccardo Scaburri (Fashion Designer, Founder of Lessico Familiare), and Lorenzo Seghezzi (NABA Alumnus and Founder of Lorenzo Seghezzi).
