Once again this year, students from the Packaging Design specialisation within the BA in Graphic Design and Art Direction took part in the brief launched by epda - European Product Design Award for the epda Junior Award Future Packaging 2024. Additionally, two students invited by epda had the opportunity to present the projects they developed for the epda Future Packaging Award 2023 and for Drupa 2024 – the global trade fair for print technologies – at ALL4PACK EMBALLAGE PARIS. 

 

NABA at the epda Junior Award Future Packaging 2024 

The epda Junior Award Future Packaging 2024 competition was born from the need to focus on sustainability and enhance the consumer experience through innovative packaging solutions. This year’s theme, Crack the Codes, encourages breaking away from traditional approaches associated with existing market products and renowned brands, exploring entirely different paths. Participants were urged not to limit themselves to the values typically applied to specific product categories but instead to embrace the language and vision of Speculative Design. 

Here are the selected projects by NABA students from the Packaging Design specialisation within the BA in Graphic Design and Art Direction, developed under the supervision of NABA lecturers Fabrizio Bottarelli Bernasconi, Paolo Cazzola, Luca Giulio Ferreccio, and Francesca Labrini: 

  • Junior Golden Award 2024:Taboo” by Elisa Bertagnin, Eleonora D'Agaro, Marianna Carrafa 
  • Silver Award:Luminé by Maria Rudenko, Anna Sorensen 
  • Bronze Award:Kaos by Victoria Arioli, Beatrice Carugo, Giulia Pes 
  • Honorary Mention:HelpMEal” by Silvia Senaldi, Ludovica Gandolfi, Ludovica Di Stefano 
  • Nominees:Fluxby Sveva Perrone, Giulia Fornara, Giulia Rigone 

  

The awards ceremony for the selected projects took place on December 13 at the NABA Campus in Milan, featuring speeches by Sylvia Vitale Rotta (epda President - TEAM CRÉATIF GROUP, France) and Rob Vermeulen (epda Design School Contact - VERMEULEN DESIGN, Netherlands). 

 

NABA at ALL4PACK EMBALLAGE PARIS 

ALL4PACK EMBALLAGE PARIS is a key event for professionals in the packaging, printing, processing, and logistics sectors, focusing on sustainability and innovation. Serving as a crucial hub for the industry, the event aims to address the future needs of the packaging sector. 

In early November, NABA students Rebecca Casati and Pietro Cosimo Cappellini, invited by epda, had the opportunity to present their projects at the Parc des Expositions de Paris-Nord Villepinte. They showcased “Sawce”, winner of the epda Future Packaging Award 2023, and “Hue”, developed for Drupa 2024based on the brief launched by Landa Digital Printing.
