A direct line from creative thinking to images: during the ADA Archiproducts Design Awards 2022 awards event, NABA students implemented a real-time visual experience. The intervention was based on Midjourney© artificial intelligence applications – graphic tools already explored in the Academy didactic programmes.

AI and design: the event and the students' project

The Archiproducts Design Awards is an important event in the international design field. The seventh edition focused on Artificial Intelligence and its application in the creative process. AI comes to be a means that attracts attention and connects the most important players in the field. During the event, a series of graphic outputs capturing design objects were processed under the guidance of Riccardo Baccani (Communication and Graphic Design Area Academic Assistant and NABA lecturer) and Viola Masella (NABA alumna). The involved students were Tommaso Chiusi and Mattia Baron (BA in Design) as well as Andrea De Carlo, Eugenio Giani, Francesca Palieri, Qi Zhang and Sveva Pannone (BA in Graphic Design and Art Direction). They engaged the audience through a live experience making use of creative image generation.
