Lorenzo Seghezzi, alumnus of the BA in Fashion Design, has been selected as one of the finalists of the 7th edition of the ISKO I-SKOOL™ Denim Awards, with his project “Queer Asmarina”, a capsule collection inspired by this year brief North, East, South West, connected by one planet, inviting to explore the surrounding world both locally and globally. The student has also been selected as one of the finalists of the Cadica Award, a collateral contest revolving on Labeling and Packaging.
Lorenzo Seghezzi’s project aimed at telling the story of the Porta Venezia district as the intersection between the Italian post-colonial legacy, with its Eritrean influences, and its identity as a LBGTQ+ cultural centre, blending the shapes of Eritrean and Ethiopian apparel with Milan’s queer community streetwear trends. The Labeling and Packaging project presented for Cadica Award revolved on the recycling of waste materials, using mainly leftovers from the collection, for a socially and technically responsible design.
ISKO I-SKOOL™ is an educational project created by the premium denim ingredient brand ISKO™ and its partners, to share their unique know-how with young talents and tomorrow’s industry professionals.
