The advanced construction of interior spaces and objects is necessarily preceded by one of the most critical project design phases – graphic concept visualisation. A designed ambient decor or product must be accurately modelled in order to correct and finalise the design itself. The 3D Modelling Specialist combines artistic skills with advanced technical expertise to render concepts as realistic three-dimensional representations.
What does a 3D Modelling Specialist do?
The 3D Modelling Specialist is tasked with creating detailed three-dimensional models of interiors, furniture or other products. These virtual renderings must accurately interpret design concepts in order to realistically represent a project outcome. In interior design, visualisations can comprise a spectrum of details such as furniture, furnishings, lighting and finishes, enabling the experimentation of various layouts and styles. Regarding products, software tools provide a way to assess different solutions, such as textures or alternative materials. These models are created to enable customers and the design team to visualise the final appearance of the work as realistically as possible.
What skills should a 3D Modelling Specialist have?
The 3D Modelling Specialist has a major responsibility in the design flow and plays a pivotal role within the creative team. The role requires specific technical skills, as well as considerable creativity and a propensity for teamwork.
- Up-to-date knowledge of 3D modelling software such as Blender, SketchUp, 3ds Max or Rhino

How can you become a 3D Modelling Specialist?

The goals of the latter include the ability to create three-dimensional representations of objects and their spatial setting.
