The Rome campus students of the BA in Graphic Design and Art Direction created a book collection based on the movies of the Archivio Audiovisivo del Movimento Operaio e Democratico (AAMOD). Thanks to the disruptive power of the audiovisual material collected over the years, they retraced the most relevant historical events of the 20th Century. The presentation of the publishing project will occur during the event L'Aperossa. It will take place at the Centrale Montemartini outdoor area, via Ostiense 106 (Rome), from September 13 to 18, every day from 5:00 PM.
The presentation of the books and related film festival in Rome
L'Aperossa is a project conceived and organised by AAMOD. It aims to enhance decentralised urban areas thanks to a series of cultural events, including the "Dal film al libro" film festival. Curated by Gabriele Ragonesi, the 2022 edition will also involve NABA students. Before the showings, they will have the opportunity to present the books created in the Editorial Design course, during the A.Y. 2020/21 and 2021/22, under the NABA lecturer Silvana Amato's supervision. Each of the books to be presented was conceived from a selection of film frames, posters and original historical documents.
The students Iulia Padureanu and Maria Vittoria Rossi will open the programme on September 13. They will present a book inspired by Luigi Perelli's movie "Majakovskij e il suo tempo" (1973). The day after, it will be the time of David Colacicco, Simone Di Salvo and Marianna Lopizzo, who have worked with “Documento n. 1 – Conoscere per fare: Campi di sterminio – Hiroshima” by Cesare Zavattini (1971). On September 15, Elena Carboni's and Valerio Gelsomini's contribution will look at the dreadful condition of mental hospitals, introducing the movie "1904, n. 36" by Riccardo Napolitano (1966). Marta De Vito and Vittoria Di Nunzio will take the stage on the same day. Their book comes from Bernardo Bertolucci's flick "La salute è malata" (1971). On September 16, Maria Rosaria Abagnale and Consuelo Bonfà will present the project realised from "Caroselli contro l'abrogazione sul divorzio" by Ugo Gregoretti, Andrea Frezza, Ettore Scola, Luigi Comencini (1974). To conclude, Lorenzo Scaramucci and Mattia Vagnarelli will address the long-standing issue of mothers-workers conditions on September 18. "Madre ma come" - the movie by Rosalia Polizzi (1977) - will follow.
