Essential during shootings and behind the catwalk, the fashion stylist role is central and coveted. NABA and Grazia Factory work together to train five young professionals who intend to pursue this path. The Stylist Squad project aims to provide BA students of the Fashion Design Area with the creative and organisational skills every stylist should have.
Fashion stylist: job responsibilities and the project purpose
Development of inspirations, outfits selection, organisation of pieces and accessories, management of collections and returns: this is the stylist's everyday life. During the project, the NABA students will work on preparing the magazine shootings. Thus, they will have the opportunity to learn and practice all the techniques and tricks that are part of a professional's skill set. In the same way, they will be able to get hands-on with the tools of the trade. The kit created especially for Grazia Stylist Squad will find scissors, pins, pincers, threads, and some of the must-have accessories for image care.
The Stylist Squad project: pupils and mentors side by side
As already mentioned, Stylist Squad involves five selected students from the BA of Fashion Design Area (Fashion Styling and Communication specialisation). Anna Opizzi, Giusi Diella, Angela Rita Di Lernia, Giorgia Sarto and Arianna Rossetti will take part in different project moments. They will become familiar with the various facets of this role. A staff of collaborators selected by Grazia.it will support them during their training. Francesca Crippa (vintage and second-hand enthusiast, co-founder of Renato Ceramics), Federica Gervasoni (personal stylist and social media content editor), Thais Montessori Brandao (fashion and celebrity stylist) will mentor the aspiring stylists.
