Introductory level

Students will be introduced to the fashion design process, covering different areas and styles. It emphasizes idea development, experimentation, and creative fashion illustration, collages or styling processes. Students will explore research, sketchbook use, 2D to 3D design, and presentation. The course is project-based and encourages students to develop their own design process, experimentation and creative approaches.

Objectives

  • Acquire the basics of fashion design, and understand the design process, from research to idea generation and project development in fashion.
  • Develop practical skills, experiment with fashion illustration, transition from 2D to 3D, and give an overview of the styling process.
  • Create appropriate material for presentations related to the fashion design path.

This course is intended for students without any academic background in the specific subject area.
