NABA's didactic offer has been enriched through six elective courses bringing professional skills to MA students in all Areas. Artificial intelligence courses applied to the worlds of design and fashion and those on algorithmic design, VR, and Cultural Branding are an opportunity to meet the job market demand in the future.

From 3D design courses to AI, NABA’s academic offer

Although not included in the official curriculum, the experimental and theoretical courses saw the enrolment of around 140 students this year. This success demonstrates the growing appeal of AI, algorithmic design, virtual reality, and Cultural Branding. Moreover, this offer highlights NABA's focus on programmes transmitting up-to-date skills to students.

Phenomenology of Artificial Intelligence Course

Amos Bianchi's (Course Leader of the MA in Creative Media Production - new name of the current MA in New Technologies for Arts, in use starting from A.Y. 2022/23) course analyses and demystifies artificial intelligence. It describes how AI works, understands its feedback on the subject-user and the interaction with the design, and envisions its future developments.

Basics of algorithmic design Course

Guido Tattoni (NABA Dean) has designed a didactic programme introducing all the creative and artistic possibilities offered by artificial intelligence.

Parametric Design Course

Riccardo Gatti's (NABA Lecturer) programme aims to show the parametric design logic and introduces the Grasshopper development software. The course is only for students who already know 3D modelling techniques and Rhinoceros.

Unreal Course for Interior Design

Giovanni Visai (NABA Lecturer) guides students toward Unreal Engine learning. In particular, it focuses on the interactive and dynamic representation of interior spaces. Knowledge of 3D modelling techniques is required, preferably with 3D Studio Max and/or Autodesk Maya.

Game Design Course and Artificial Intelligence

Moreno Lovato's (NABA Lecturer) course introduces the gaming sphere. The programme starts with the analysis of the video game industry, market and involved roles. Furthermore, it touches upon the theory of entertainment and the player's psychology. Finally, students implement a video game using AI.

Cultural Branding Course

Alessia Zampano (NABA Lecturer) explores brands' social and cultural roles through an in-depth theoretical analysis and the study of the most innovative campaigns. The aim is to understand how socio-cultural landscapes influence and inspire brand design.
