NABA announces the participation of students from the Master of Art in Social Design at Milano Arch Week 2024, an international festival dedicated to architecture, urban transformations, and the future of cities, promoted by the Municipality of Milan, Politecnico di Milano, and Triennale Milano. The students will be involved in two events: the first, “POPOLI UNITI” will occur on May 25 from 5 PM to 10 PM at Via Popoli Uniti 30, Milan. The second event, “LA TERRA CHE NON C’È – Orticultura Sociale Urbana” is scheduled for May 26 from 3 PM to 7:30 PM at the Giardino della Madia Cooperativa Sociale Solidarietà COMIN (Via Pimentel 5, Milan), with the support of Fondazione Comunità di Milano and Fondazione Cariplo.

Under Stefano Boeri's artistic direction, the festival proposes a series of initiatives and meetings in different formats, spread throughout the city to give voice to different realities - local and international, large and small - presenting solutions and projects already realised, together with moments of confrontation, debate and reflection.

NABA at Milano Arch Week 2024: student projects at two events

As part of the two events, “POPOLI UNITI” and “LA TERRA CHE NON C’È – Orticultura Sociale Urbana” the projects developed during the Community Design course of the Master of Arts in Social Design will be presented. These projects, guided by NABA lecturers Elisabetta Bianchessi, Serena Crocco, and Irene Guida, under the direction of the T12 Lab Association, start from the theme of URBAN NATURE and consist of ephemeral installations that engage with abandoned areas and the vulnerable communities that inhabit them. They provide an opportunity to initiate a dialogue with citizenship dedicated to unknown and hidden places, fostering unexpected processes of knowledge and imagination among humans and the urban nature that surrounds us on different scales, through relational design devices.

Both projects were created by students Marta Prati, Marisol Beltrami, Adipa Klomchitcharoen, Camilla Capocelli, Claudia Marangio, Loren Avery Tripp, Andrea Congiu, and Donatella Taraborelli.
