NABA proudly announces that Lucia Grande, student of the BA in Fashion Design was awarded with the special prize for the category YKK Italia, for her outfit “Everyone sees what they know”, at the 6th edition of Milano Moda Graduate, the event organised by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, dedicated to Italian fashion school excellence, yesterday at 5 pm at Milan’s La Permanente.

Lucia Grande’s outfit, “Everyone sees what they know”, is a reflection on the visual de-composition, and re-building. This is the fundamental process that brought the designer to the creation of the all over prints dedicated to the theme of thermic dimension: with the use of liquid colours she delivers visually a sensation of warmth, energy and dynamicity. The focus is also on the zippers, provided by YKK Italia, which are printed as well. Without those zippers, the outfit would not exist, as they are its signature element.  The work wear trousers in cotton gabardine is innovate through accessorising. The padded jacket in black neoprene summerises the concept by separating the neck, the torso, the underarm, that can be recomposed freely, along with the tiles, to be added to the scuba printed bag’s handle that completes the outfit with geometrical shapes.

Andrea De Luca, alumnus of the BA in Fashion Design, also walked Milano Moda Graduate’s runway with his capsule collection, “A”. The name of Andea De Luca’s collection has many different meanings: the letter is composed by three lines, each one linked to the academic years of the BA in Fashion Design. These lines, together, can be compared with one of the greatest architecture of all time, “The Lion Gate”, which is based on the principle of jambs and lintel. Therefore, “A” refers to the unmovable knowledge, the bedrock on which keep building projects/ideas day by day. Furthermore, “A” stands for air, the linchpin element of the pneumatic architectures/installations of Tomàs Saraceno, Hongtao Zhou and the Venice Biennale - Nordic Pavillion “Another Generosity” where the inspiration of this collection came from. Andrea De Luca intends the dress as a repair, lively architecture, and second skin.
