Visual Arts Area: NABA's Academic Offer
The Bachelor's Degree program introduces students to the transformations of contemporary artistic practices, fostering interaction with productive and social life through the exploration of various environments, techniques, and methods, while reinterpreting the traditional academic approach.
Founded in 2006, the Master's Degree program combines a solid education in artistic production with specialized curatorial practice, exploring the relationship between art, visual culture, aesthetics, and social dynamics to create new educational and operational models for the international art system.
The Master’s program provides the most effective tools for interpreting the structures and dynamics of the art market, with a particular focus on contemporary languages, and includes study trips to Artissima in Turin and Art Basel in Basel, key events in the sector.
The Master’s program is an intensive course that prepares students to enter the world of photography, art, and communication on both national and international levels. It aims to train key figures in contemporary photography, including photographers, curators, and specialized editors.
The Master’s program provides an interdisciplinary methodological approach and the technical tools necessary to address the most urgent issues related to landscape, nature conservation, biodiversity, and sustainability, connecting artistic creativity, project development, and scientific knowledge.
What NABA's Visual Arts Alumni Say
«In NABA I have had the opportunity to develop and define my artistic research, experimenting with any means of expression and establishing connections with high-level artists. Thanks to the experience I have gained, I have exhibited my works in collective and personal exhibitions in Italy and abroad».
Among my memories of NABA, I remember the Director who, in class, would speak about art as a constantly changing social phenomenon, and about the museum as the place of origin of a cultural production that can be questioned and renewed. Today, I still remember these words, aiming at tracing the outlines of an alternative gaze on art.
“When I was studying at NABA, I remember the director said ‘we are interested in collaborating with students in a professional way instead of traditional teaching’. Now I have started my career, my former professors have become my colleagues and we continue working together as we did at NABA.”
You will engage in individual and group work, lectures and tutoring, experimentation, and workshops.
Among the companies with which NABA's Visual Arts area collaborates or has collaborated are: Fondazione La Triennale di Milano, Oliviero Toscani Studio, Sotheby's Italy, MiArt, Fondazione Trussardi, Art for the World Europe.
